IRIE draws its inspirations from the constant
re-invention of reggae, using the latest music technology to create a stylistically unique sound, all with a distinct reggae flavour.
IRIE operates as a tight and heavy four piece, with the frontwoman Queen Charmaine weaving melodies through wicked grooves, drum and bass courtesy of Ranji Dread. The mix is sweetened with sax and guitar by Max and Brett, adding a distinctive twist to the classic reggae sound.
Arguably the longest running original reggae act in Melbourne, IRIE has performed extensively, including at the Colombo Music Festival (Sri Lanka), Jamaican Music & Food Festival, Bob Marley Birthday Bash, Wunderbar ReggaeFest (Sri Lanka), Reggae Red Carpet Awards, St. Kilda Festival, Moomba, Daylesford Music Festival, Brunswick Music Festival, Globe to Globe Festival, Paco Festa - plus many more. IRIE has supported many international acts such as Shaggy, Maxi Priest, Big Mountain and Diana King.
IRIE perform for a variety of venues and occasions, from small intimate performances to full scale festivals - add some reggae flavour to your next event!
